Panel Discussion: Mahatma Gandhi – Beyond the Civil Rights Movement

Dear Members/ Friends of MGPCO,

Mahatma Gandhi Peace Council of Ottawa is pleased to inform you that the M.K. Gandhi Annual Lecture 2020 is being held as a panel discussion on October 3, 2020 at 1-3 PM. Due to COVID-19 restrictions on the assembly of people, this year’s event will be held as an online event via the Zoom platform.

The topic of the panel discussion, “Mahatma Gandhi – Beyond the Civil Rights Movement” is a topical subject on the relevance of Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of non-violence to the Civil Rights Movement and beyond it. Our guest speakers will present their views on Mahatma Gandhi’s inspirational example for key African American civil rights leaders and on his broader views on humanitarianism, rights, and duties — with lessons for today’s Black Lives Matter Movement.
